TOBY is still looking for a loving home.

                              TOBY AS A GORGEOUS PUP

.

               TOBY  A TEENAGER WITH MONA

LOVELY TOBY NEVER FOUND A HOME, NOW HE IS ALL GROWN

UP! HERE HE IS WITH MONA (A NEW PUPPY FROM THE STREET)

WELL I GUESS  NOT COMPLETELY GROWN UP! HE IS YET

ANOTHER BEAUTIFUL ENTITY  SHARING MY LIVING QUARTERS,

HE STILL WANTS A HOME OF HIS OWN, BUT HIS OWNERS,

WOULD HAVE TO BE SO GENTLE , HE STILL SUFFERS FROM HIS

TERRIFYING EXPERIENCE ON THE STREET ALONE, AS A TINY

PUP..TOBY   IS VERY LOVING, ASTUTE AND INTELLIGENT.

MONA IS ALSO LOOKING FOR A HOME, SHE IS ALSO A VERY

GOOD PUP SLEEPS RIGHT NEXT TO YOU ON THE BED AND DOES

NOT DISTURB FOR 8 HOURS, OF COURSE VERY SPOILT, AND SO

    SHE SHOULD BE!

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

 Toby's young life.....

He was found huddled in a hole , he hid himself away from people, on the

side of a small road.

A kind person managed to pick him up, with a blanket, even though his one

month old teeth  nashed madly as he tried to protect himself .

Toby snarled and fought for his life, little did he know he would be

delivered into a warm bed and gentle people to care for him. Toby kept

up his vigilant distrust  of people and tried to protect himself  for

several days, until he finally realized he could lower his heckles and

allow himself to be loved .Toby is extremly loving, even though he still

has a quick temper, but he listens intently when we talk to him, cocking

his little  head from side to side, watching one with his beautiful intelligent

eyes. Toby needs a home as a one person dog , because when Toby bonds

with you  he will take it upon himself to protect and love your family the

same way he tried to protect himself. We hope Toby will be another

happy B.A.R.C. story.

Scrumpy - left on the street.

Scrumpy was left on the street, frightened to death and freezing.  It took three hours to stop him from shaking in fear.  Suzie, a resident girl, has taken him under her wing, and they are now best friends.  Scrumpy is modelling one of the sock coats that was sent from Australia in our care package, and sleeps on blankets donated by Tracey.

Daisy - now an angel.

Sadly Daisy has passed away, she just was not strong enough.  Rest in Peace little girl.

Bobo. A Bali boy.

Meet Bobo.  Bobo is an adult Bali dog and as with most adults they are territorial.  Normally there is not much we can do at BARC for the adult dogs because they are not happy in the facility.  Bobo is quite down at the moment, but there was little choice.

The people next door to where Bobo lived wanted to kill and eat him for chasing a man on a motorbike and nipping at his heels.  This man had already eaten Bobo's partner and puppy.  The neighbors took Bobo to BARC and made a donation of $50 to take him, as they were desperate to save him.  He is very singular and solitary and only allows Linda to cuddle him, so we are not sure if he will get a home or not.  But he is loyal, and we have hope that some one will come along one day and help him.

Seaweed - off to live in France!

We have had some extraordinary tales of adopting our dogs overseas, and we hope many many more are able to go to great homes in far away lands....

A lovely bub called Banjo, who was saved at Ubud Market, will be making a new home in the heart of Australia with a loving new owner.

And a Mum and her baby, starving to death on the streets of Bali will be going to America to live in a life of luxury.  How lucky they are, and how fortunate we have been to find such kindness with people willing to take the time to help a dog in a country other than their own.

Now here is Seaweed.  Seaweed is heading to France to live out the life of a spoilt French pooch and we could not be more thrilled.  Good luck lovely Seaweed, we know you will be happy.

Seaweed with her new owner!

UPDATE - Seaweed sadly passed away suddenly.  Everyone is traumatized thinking that she would be safe and living a great life with her new Mum in France.

Snowy and pup Kuat

Meet Snowy and pup Kuat, which means 'strong' in Balinese.  You can see the hideous wounds on their necks.  Snowy had maggots in hers, had them cleaned out and stitched, it was touch and go whether she would survive, but she has indeed and grows stronger daily.

So much so that she split her stitches and had to have them done again!  Kuat is doing fine too, the need for an ambulance and proper medical care is paramount just with these pictures.  Linda did not tell me what the wounds are from.  Being around the neck the possibility is they were tied up.  If you think you can help us by donating money, please email rescued1@bigpond.net.au and we will get back to you.

UPDATE:  KUAT the puppy is doing very well, healing nicely and is looking like a playful little bub as all pups should be.  Here are some more pics of Kuat....

Bear - a boy with a hard road ahead.

Here is little Bear.  Bad enough that he has no mother to care for him, it has been discovered that Bear is blind.  From what we don't know.

BARC tried to find a surrogate Mum for him, but he was too tiny and bullied by the other pups, so Bear is now being hand reared.  Not easy to do in Bali, but there is very little option.

Bear is growing, he is an absolute chunka chunka, and when he is old enough he will need a special home that can help him overcome his disability and accept him for what he is.

Blind dogs cope remarkably well.  They remember layouts of furniture and steps and have a heightened sense of smell to combat not being able to see.  More updates on Bear to come.

Susie - an amazing girl

Here is Susie, who is a very very special girl.  Susie was tied up to a rice field with no food or water and left there.  To survive she ate rocks, grass, insects, even her own faeces.  When rescued she was in a coma for a week.  No one thought she would survive.  But like someone who knows when someone is looking at them Susie opened her eyes and smiled at her Rescuer.  It was like she knew she was safe and it was time to come back and enjoy life again.

Suzie waking up after her coma, with a smile!

Susie will eventually go to a special home, but at the moment she is staying at Linda's house where she can have complete control of the bed!

Someone scratch my tummy please!

The Story of Tutut

The story of Tutut goes to show how many people are so extraordinarily kind.  Tutut lives around the Batujimba Estate and was left to fend for herself when her owners packed up and deserted her.  She was befriended by some people who now feed her when they can.  They have also paid for her desexing and cleaned her up so at least she will never have to worry about have litters of puppies one after the other when she can barely look after herself.

The people who have cared for Tutut are now back in Australia, but have kindly donated money to B.A.R.C so more dogs like their beautiful girl Tutut can have at least a fighting chance.  Thankyou to those concerned.

UPDATE: THE GIRL WHO LOOKED AFTER TUTUT WOULD LIKE HER TO BE ADOPTED. IF YOU ARE INTERESTED IN THIS LOVELY GIRL AND LIVE IN BALI, PLEASE CONTACT THE DETAILS ON THE FRONT OF OUR SITE. THANKYOU.
