Much has changed here in Bali, because of the rabies scare , our Governor has in his wisdom, blocked all import and export of dogs and cats.

     WE WANT RIGHTS FOR ANIMALS!

We have five dogs in our center who are waiting to go to holland and to Fance and we cannot send them ,they are vaccinated against rabies and have micro chips and a clean bill of health, but still they are blocked from leaving, many people too, who own dogs and wish to go home, eg to Australia, cannot take their loved pet with them.

So where can they leave them to be cared for , how can these pets be helped?

We don't know, there are hardly enough facilities to take care of the sick and  abused animals from the streets here, let alone the abandoned  pedigrees.

Recently a truck was seen, with live dogs thrown on the roof, legs and mouths bound tighly, unable to move and hardly breathe. We now know they were on the way to a local restaurant that serve dog meat, but one brave woman stopped the truck and demanded the dogs be freed. She had the truck driver so scared he gave up his cargo for a pittance of 35 dollars. The dogs were thrown to the ground, twelve in total, some died from their horrific injuries and shock caused by the abusive handling...one was pregnant.

They need their rights!

Every day we still see sick and suffering on the streets of Bali .
We are a Rehabilitation and Adoption center,we are helping a lot of dogs and pups and kittens, and since we are not funded from anywhere are not able to do more ,even though we would dearly love to.
We have been established since 2006 and are stilll doing good work, and managing through some individuals generosity, and very tough times.
The smalll amounts of donations and the sporadic nature of donations, is not enough for us to improve our center, there is so much stilll needed to be done and dogs don't just stop breeding  so there are still thousands of stilll suffering animals out there on our streets.
We have a mobile theatre which we would love to have working all day, every day, with at least 5 vets ,this takes funding, and not possible to provide at the moment, but needed desperatly.Any one out there who is able to put a little time and energy, even vollenteering at our refuge would be warmly welcomed..

We need regular funding...can you help?
