The Plight of Bali dogs

THERE ARE NO WORDS TO DESCRIBE THE SUFFERING OF THESE DOGS

With these images facing BARC staff every day, you can see the need to help is great.

Dogs on the street often suffer from broken legs.  They are hit by cars in narrow streets and left to cope with the pain and the struggle to survive.  Many like the dog above have mange, they have no fur and their skin become thick and scabby, the pain would be unbearable.

Female dogs are often dumped as they are not considered aggressive enough as guard dogs.  Recently 3 puppies were thrown into the sea to drown and they all swam back to shore.  They were thrown out again.  A lady stopped hearing the screaming and saved two of the pups.  The third one did not make it back.

Boiling water has been thrown at dogs to keep them away from kitchens.  Most dogs die a slow and preventable death.  They have veneral disease which they pass to each other, along with other diseases, mange, flea infestations, infections and the continuous cycle of producing litter after litter ensures many helpless and vulnerable puppies will face the same fate as their parents.
